Dr n. med. Natalia Szejko
Dr. n. med., Dr. n. hum. Natalia Szejko is a neurologist with extensive international clinical and scientific experience, which includes a 1.5-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Neurology, Yale University (USA), where she advanced her expertise in precision medicine, brain health, and the use of genomics in neurology.
She also completed a two-year clinical and research fellowship in movement disorders at the University of Calgary (Canada), funded by the American Brain Foundation, the American Academy of Neurology, and the Tourette Association of America. In 2025, she joined the prestigious group of Brain Health Ambassadors of the European Academy of Neurology. She is the author and co-author of over 100 scientific articles in neurology, mainly on movement disorders but also on brain health. She serves on the board of the Fellows Section of the European Charcot Foundation, where a brain health program for patients with multiple sclerosis is currently being developed; she is also E-Learning Liaison in the European Academy of Neurology (Functional Neurological Disorders Panel), Treasurer and Board Member of the European Society for the Study of Tourette Syndrome, as well as Co–Vice Chair of the International Alliance for Cannabinoid Medicines and a member of the Steering Committee of the Tic Disorders Group, Movement Disorders Society. For her scientific achievements, she has received numerous awards and fellowships, many of which enabled additional international clinical and research placements, including: Joint Fellowship of the European Huntington's Disease Network and Movement Disorders Society (Department of Neurology, Ramon y Cajal Hospital, Madrid, Spain), Clinical Fellowship of the European Academy of Neurology (Department of Neurology, University of Innsbruck, Austria), Research Fellowship of the Kościuszko Foundation (Yale University, USA), LEAP Fellowship for Young Leaders of the Movement Disorders Society, Prof. Mary Robertson Award, Polityka’s Science Award, Prof. A. Rojszczak Award of the Foundation for Polish Science, Presidents’ Award of the Polish Neurological Society, Ministry of Health Scholarship for the Best Young Scientists, and 4th place in the Supertalents in Medicine competition.
